Another Door Opens

For: Bleeding Fingers competition

This was something a bit different for me as the result was purely computer-based rather than a score to be performed, but it was a fun challenge to recompose an existing piece by the Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer using some or all of the individual stems. I tried to move away from the very four-square nature of the original and introduced a brand new cello line over the top. My software got me so far and then I called on my friend Lee to help me mix the final track. Considering I did it in a few days and it’s something I’d never done before I pretty pleased with the result – but I can’t see me moving away from working with real performers!
